Le bikini Hammies est basé sur l'un des styles de bikini originaux des années 1960 . Il combine des éléments de quelques-unes de nos trouvailles vintage préférées, telles qu'une bordure blanche Rick Rack, une fermeture à faux boutons à l'arrière du haut, des pinces et un coloris vertical bicolore. Le corps et le porte-rick sont fabriqués avec 15 % d'étirement pour s'adapter aux corps de toutes formes et tailles. Les boutons et la bordure contrastée blanche correspondent aux détails de notre ensemble Smock et Cabana et complètent vraiment ce look du milieu du siècle.
Le bikini est notre dernière et la meilleure des nombreuses pièces qui célèbrent les styles exubérants et sous-estimés du style de bain des années 50 et 60. C'est le bikini de ta grand-mère !

L'histoire
L’histoire du maillot de bain est une histoire fascinante sur la pruderie vestimentaire américaine et européenne qui a débuté au début du 20e siècle. Avant les années 1940, la plupart des femmes nagaient en tenue complète, comprenant des robes, des traqueurs, des bottes et une ceinture de poids pour les empêcher de flotter. En comparaison, les maillots de bain pour hommes étaient beaucoup moins oppressants (essentiellement une combinaison en laine jusqu'à ce que le torse nu devienne acceptable dans les années 1930). Le bikini est apparu sur la scène de la mode dans les années 1930, mais n'a été accepté par le public que dans les années 1960. Au cours des 40 années suivantes, le maillot de bain, et le bikini en particulier, ont repoussé les limites de la mode et de la pudeur américaines plus que tout autre article de la garde-robe. this is my favorite bathing suit ever. It’s so retro but high quality and comfortable. I saw it last year and held out, but finally caved and bought it. It’s exactly what I hoped it would be
I am so in love with this suit. It’s so flattering and the fabric quality is fantastic. Way better quality than anything I’ve bought before. It’s soft, hugs your hips in the best way, and doesn’t dig into your skin. I have zero discomfort in it. I’m 5”3’, 140lbs, 34E bra size. I bought the large top and medium bottoms.
As soon as I saw this suit I had to have it. I agonized over sizing because I have a fairly curvy figure and while I usually wear a small or medium (4/6 in pants) I find myself ordering large or even extra large in bathing suit bottoms to fit my hips and bum. I decided to go with a medium for the top and the bottom. The top fits great. The bottom fits well, except for the leg opening being a little bit tight. While minor, I hate the visible squeeze at the leg opening, but I know that a large will be way too large. These also have a lot of stretch! The reversible-ness means that the darts are pretty visible and almost cause a bagging effect on the top, but the stripes hide it well enough. For reference I am:

Man it’s so cute, I wish I could love it but the fit is atrocious. It’s some how too long and too small and short at the same time? It doesn’t feel like it was made for a human body/ feels like a man designed it without thinking of how women’s bodies move. It’s really low cut but the straps are too long, the bottoms also are very long and fit in some places but not others. Feels too big but also like I am falling out of it if I dare move too much or *swim* in it. The fit really boggles my mind- have never had a swimsuit fit so poorly for so much money.

I am actually obsessed with this bikini. I’m 5’10 - 150 and I feel so cute in this bathing suit. I love that it covers my tummy bc as we know looking bloated is always a possibility. I took one star off bc of the price, $120 for a swimsuit is INSANE. But I bought 2 and I’m in love. I would buy 5 if they were $60 total. But if you’re looking for a splurge on a swimsuit I would def recommend!!
I absolutely love this swim suit. The material is soft and THICK and really holds you in. The cut is so cute and very high waisted, so if that's not your thing, look elsewhere. Would definitely recommend taking your sizing measurements and comparing to the size guide because there is not much stretch to the material, especially the bottoms. Will be reordering another for this season! My only negative comment would be that when the suit first arrived, it smelled really badly of BO like it had been tried on and returned, but came out in the wash. Maybe it could have been chemicals or something, but either way, would love a little more quality control this time around.
their suits are worth every penny. you can tell the quality of the fabric as soon as you touch it. so sturdy. I heard mine rip a little as I've gained weight since I bought this (and the rust one with buttons), but it's still ticking! nothing even noticeably changed with the garment itself. so flattering on my curvy body!!! compliments galore!
The material is thick with a good amount of stretch and the lines of the suit are so flattering. Highly recommend!! I bought a 2nd in the same cut because I love it so much.

As a short gal with a short torso, I was worried about the only 3 size options, but despite a bit of extra fabric gathering a bit above my waist, it actually fits quite well and is super cute. I love the fabric and cut and style of this bikini.
Like other folks have said, the material feels very high quality. The shape of the top is super cute and comfy, and I expect it will hold up during activity (vs simply lounging—both of which I do in my swimwear). I would say sizing of both pieces runs just a tad big—if you’re in between sizes, or if like me, you fit into two size categories, may be best to size down. I went with M over S because my measurements are more aligned with the M suit. Mine fits well dry, but I do wonder how much it will stretch when wet.
Two tone blue reverses to solid lighter blue, which was a nice surprise to me bc I didn’t see that advertised! Also, two tone blue doesn’t have the buttons on the back of the top. Fine by me bc I do a lot of snorkeling and prefer to avoid shiny details on my swimsuits, but may be good to know in case that’s a feature you look forward to.
My order was marked “delivered” but didn’t actually make it to me, and Hammie’s made it right with a replacement. So pleased with my purchase that I plan to keep an eye for additional swim styles/colors from this brand.

This bikini top is so retro! It is very stretchy. The size chart put me in an LX and that was too big, the girls were coming out of the bottom. I exchanged for a large and it’s perfect. I wear a 36G or 38DDD bra.
I absolutely love it! I tried it on and it’s nice and snug it’s so cute just what I have been looking for since not a lot of people make 50’s style swimsuits anymore this is a good quality swimsuit will definitely order more in different colors!

Amazing quality!! The swimsuit is super thick and is a flattering cut. It’s so cute on. My only complaint would be the sanitary sticker they used was too sticky and it took me a good hour to peel a million tiny stickies off when the paper ripped.. other than that it’s an amazing swimsuit and will definitely buy more when I can!
